Airbus win 3-0

A game we expected something from but got nothing, whilst we did well for an hour in the end we were well beaten 3-0 and it looks like a 2 horse fight to avoid the bottom spot and relegation.

Match report to follow.

good 1-1 for reserves at Boded

11th February 2008

Following the recent poor weather it was a blessing to be playing in decent conditions without gale force winds!

Cefni started the game well and passed the ball about with confidence, although without creating much. Then a lack of concentration in defence gifted Boded two great chances, the first was well saved by Dave Vickers (who was playing his first game following his transfer from Buckley) and the second resulted in a well taken goal as Gary Bolton struck the ball into the net.

1-0 to Boded at half time, a tight first 45 mins with Boded piping it due to the chances we allowed them.

The second half saw Llangefni taking control and creating a number of great scoring opportunities. The equalizer came on the 66th minute when Sion Taylor headed home from a well worked corner! Following the equalizer Boded rallied, however failed to create any notable chance on goal. Cefni created further chances but found the Boded keeper in good form.

Final score Bodedern 1-1 Cefni. A point away from home is always an acceptable result, but we could have taken all 3.

A much improved performance from the Bethel game, and as we were behind in this match the lessons learnt from the Bethel game was evident. Cefni played the same football without over committing players in advancing positions, a credit to skipper Iwan Jones in the centre mid.

But one player stood head and shoulders above all on the pitch and that was Gareth Allman, another immense performance. From his reading of the game and positional sense, to his composure and distribution on the ball it was excellent performance. A worthy MoM

5-1 loss away @ Haverfordwest

5-1 loss away @ Haverfordwest

Bad result with others around us all gaining points leaving us further adrift at the bottom. It looked as though we were hanging on at 1-1 until the last 20 minutes when we fell apart and conceded 4  goals - match report to follow when to hand.

We started badly going a goal down in 5 minutes, but battled back matching them in the middle with Kevin Lloyd striking a great shot from 25 yards to equalise on the half hour and holding this until half time. We conceded the second early in the 2nd half but kept pressing and looked likely to equalise again. We changed the formation bringing on Caerwyn, Midge & Chris, but soon after lost Steve Kehoe to a head injury. With 10 men we fell to 3 quick strikes in the last 15 minutes to give a bad 5-1 defeat, that could have been so different had we taken our chances and had 11 men on the pitch.

3 points adrift but with a game in hand on Porthmadog and a must win at home to Airbus on Friday.
