Caernarfon Game
26th March 2008
Following protests from Porthmadog the Premier League have refused to sanction the switch of the Caernarfon game to Llangefni on the grounds that this would give us an unfair advantage in the relegation battle.
The current position is that Caernarfon have been ordered to fulfill the fixture at their home ground before the end of the season, at present the consequences for not doing so are unknown.
Caernarfon have suggested that we play on a Sunday, which with Saturday games is impractical.
An update will be posted when the position has been resolved.
This has now been switched back to Caernarfon on Wednesday 16th April K.O 7:45 pm
2nd team 1-0 @ Llanllyfni
25th March 2008
Cefni travelled to top of the table Llanllyfni today. In all honesty the game never really took off. It was a quiet match with few chances.
Cefni changed formation to adapt to the smaller pitch, and this allowed us to contain and to compete in the midfield area, with Iwan, Lee and Aidie Glo working hard.
The first half saw us with plenty of possession, however we did not create any clear opportunities. Half time score 0-0.
The second half saw Llanllyfni with a little more possession, but as with Cefni in the first half, no clear chances were created. On 60 minutes Llanllyfni were given a free kick, about 30 yards out. The ball seemed to get caught on the wind and it sailed into the net.
The last 20 mins saw Cefni desperately trying to equalize, and in some parts we were playing with 4 strikers, however it was not to be. Final score Llanllyfni 1-0 Cefni.
It was a little disappointing to loose to such a strange goal, we deserved a point today.
17 year old center half Huw was given his debut today, playing his first competative senior game and performed well.
3-0 Home win v Aberystwyth
22nd March 2008

Viewed by most as probably the best team performance of the season so far, a thoroughly deserved 3-0 win against a top side who beat us comfortably at their place; and it could easily have been 5 or 6. Good clean sheet for Jacko who only needed to make one superb save at the near post.
We started strongly again with Austin restored to mid field and Sadler having decided to leave the club, otherwise the same team and formation. The early goal after 19 minutes gave us confidence with a good follow up by Chris Jones onto a parried Darren Bach shot. We played some attractive passing football and took the game to them with a good move though the middle, wide to Ows who went past 2 and cut back for Darren to hit a great cross goal shot giving their keeper no chance. Half time 2-0 and the 2nd half started as we left off with the lively Darren going 1 on 1 with the keeper who deflected wide; but we continued to create chances. They threw their big men on and forward and put the defence under pressure at times, but not threatening the goal, with us looking very dangerous on the counter which resulted in a 2nd for Darren late on with another superb strike across the keeper. I cannot single out any player as they were all outstanding and an all round team effort.
Great result with Port and Caersws losing and giving us a potential lifeline if we keep playing to this standard. Again good discipline, formation, getting in their faces and winning the personal battles saw us through and the ray of light we have been looking for. Let's keep this up next week at home to Neath and then the re-arranged Caernarfon game that has been switched by them to our ground.
