New Signing
20th August 2009

with us reduced to 11 fit/available players for Saturday, the managers have quickly moved to sign Robbie Williams from Colwyn Bay FC. Robbie has played for several Premier League clubs, including Bangor, Caernarfon and Rhyl, in the role of midfield playmaker and his quality is a positive step in maintaining our good start to the season.
I am sure all the players and supporters will make him very welcome when he makes his debut at home to Ruthin on Saturday.

2nd win away at Llanfairpwll
19th August 2009

4-0 away win at Island rivals Llanfairpwll, but a hospital visit for Kev Lloyd spoils our party.
Early start on a cloudy dry evening with a gusting wind and uneven playing surface, all led to a scrappy 'ball in the air' style of play, which does not suit us. The only change form Saturday was Mark Jones in for Mitchell who was nursing a bit of strain. Most of the play from both sides was over the top long ball, as it bounced every which way on the ground, the over fussy ref. didn't take conditions into account for either side and a flurry of cards followed. Darren Thomas had the best first chance in on the keeper, with his cross shot just bouncing wide, but on 19 minutes Rich Higham found Kev Lloyd, who turned his man, beat him for pace and hit a good near post strike to open the scoring. a couple of counter attacks were well handled by Pearson in goal, but as the half came towards a close our big guys went up for a free kick and a good delivery from Darren found Warren Gibbs unmarked in the 6 yard box to stoop and head home, 2-0 at the break.
After the restart we upped our game a bit, but an early tussle between ex player Sion Parry and Kev Lloyd, saw Kev stretchered off with ankle damage having gone over on landing. Danny Glyn came on for him closely followed by Mitchell for Richie Owen and Gerallt Jones for Lee Craven. With little threat to our goal and as they tired, we upped the tempo with Darren running riot down the right and centre with 2 or 3 good efforts bouncing away from the goal, but he got his just deserts on 75 minutes when he was awarded a free kcik for a red carded Daren Hughes tackle, which he superbly put away from the edge of the box. 6 minutes later he was put through by a Danny Glyn header beat 3 men to the bye line to cross for Chris Williams to volley home with us finishing comfortably 4-0 winners.
The news on Kev Lloyd is not good, he is in plaster for a week with a suspected fractured foot, if this is the case, then it could be a further 6 weeks in plaster plus about the same recuperation, not what we want and we hope that the news will be good next week.
It sees our squad cut down for Saturday with Kehoe still suspended, injuries to Marcus Orlik, Kev Roberts and now Kev Lloyd, plus Chris Williams and Danny Glyn unavailable, perhaps a delve into the transfer market may be in order
