Richie Owen is on his way

17th November 2009

Richie Owen is on his way to Bethesda in an effort to secure a regular game, a favourite with the fans for his committment and industry when playing. He will be missed and the management, players and all at the club wish him well at Bethesda (except when they play us of course).

Does leave our squad a bit smaller though!

We may lose top spot to Flint tomorrow if they beat Bethesda so lets hope the only team to beat us in the league do the same to Flint.

GAME OFF

13th November 2009

Tomorrow's game at home to Llangollen has been postponed this evening due to the heavy rain and the forecast of more tomorrow.

It has not been possible to get on to the pitch to cut the grass and the ground is already sodden with surface water lying.

Big game ends 0-0

8th November 2009

Apologies for the delay and detail in this information, this is how the game was reported to me this evening.

Starting lineup: Pearson, Jones G, Mitchell, Gibbs, Austin, Kehoe, Williams C, Williams R, Roberts K, Thomas,  Roberts DG, subs; Gwynedd, Higham, Orlik, Jones, Craven, Shannahan.

Like last season the weather was the dominant factor with a gale force wind in the first half and torrential rain particularly bad in the 2nd.

We had a 1st minute chance with  Chris Williams header going just over and a last minute cross from Darren Thomas falling to Orlik whose shot was smothered by the keeper.

In between the action was all around the middle with most attacks foundering on the strong defensive lines of both teams. Keepers were both restricted to speculative shots from range that caused little problem to either. Much as last year the wind caused over running, out of play and little of note. The driving rain hampered any good passing football, but I am told that Llandudno had most of the possession without creating much.

A draw was adjudged to be a fair result and away at a main rival probably favours us more than them with Flint unexpectedly losing at Buckley on Friday.

This is the 2nd time in 2 seasons at Llandudno where the game as a spectacle has been marred by the poor weather, but that's all part of the game. All in all a continued good team effort carrying on from last week.
